There are many scenic places located throughout Nevada, and some of these places are better known than others. Sometimes you’ve got to travel off the beaten path to discover all the beauty Nevada has to offer.

1. Lunar Crater Volcanic Field

Lunar Crater Volcanic Field, located in central Nevada, covers more than 100 square miles and is comprised of cinder cones, elongated fissures, ash hills and a 430-foot deep lunar crater--which happens to be its main feature.

2. Floyd Lamb Park

Floyd Lamb Park, located in Las Vegas, is a 2,040-acre park that's centered on Tule Springs, a series of small lakes. This lovely park also features four stocked ponds and beautiful scenic paths.

3. Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe

Sand Harbor is Lake Tahoe's finest beach, and it's surrounded by Lake Tahoe's most spectacular scenery.

4. Boundary Peak

Located in Esmeralda County, and at more than 13,000 feet, Boundary Peak is Nevada's highest point.

5. Washoe Lake

Washoe Lake is located within the Washoe Valley of Washoe County. Because of its high wind speeds, Washoe Lake is very popular among windsurfers.

6. Crystal Spring at Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is located within the Amargosa Valley of southern Nye County. Crystal Spring is just one of the many beautiful springs located at this refuge.

7. Lake Mohave

Lake Mohave is a reservoir that was formed by Davis Dam on the Colorado River. It also defines the border between Nevada and Arizona. Lake Mohave is located north of Laughlin, Nevada and Bullhead City, Arizona, and it's an important part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

8. Sand Mountain

Sand Mountain, a singing sand dune, is located approximately 25 miles east of Fallon, Nevada. It measures two miles in length and is nearly 600 feet high. Sand Mountain is the perfect spot for off-road enthusiasts.

9. Angel Lake

Angel Lake, located in central Elko County, is a glacial tarn that covers approximately 13 acres and is a popular recreation site within the area.
